Okay, so it's obvious that the song is slowed down for this, but it is a mistake on the part of the band, or just some kind of experiment that didn't work?
Probably not an experiment, I think, but I like to give the musicians the benefit of the doubt. And it is cool to hear her fill in the extra seconds with extending warbling away at the held notes.

What's most curious is the fact that Karen thought of herself as primarilly, a drummer.
Personally, I love We've Only Just Begun.

She sings with so much passion. There are just not a lot of people who sing with this kind of emotion, passion, and longing.

The slowed down, drifting tempo is great because she skates on top of it like a genius

They Rehearsed it the way it turned out...because She wanted it at this tempo...notice how she gets to really pour out her soul and hold those notes? A faster tempo would not allow her to do that. She wanted to show off her incredible voice plus she can really get into the song at this slower tempo. And I think she was Not Embarrasing...she was so amazingly creative.

The lyrics of her songs don't affect me because I know they're merely fictional love songs. I actually prefer her "sad" songs over her "happy" ones like SING, and TOP OF THE WORLD because of her low warm voice. In the 70's, I never really felt that her voice sounded sad; I just thought she sounded smooth and beautiful.
