Glenn Miller - Moonlight Serenade (Best Of Glenn Miller)

My Prayer
Glenn Miller
Words by Jimmy Kennedy, music by Georges Boulanger

As recorded by the Glenn Miller Orchestra on August 18th 1939 with Ray Eberle.

My prayer is to linger with you
At the end of the day
In a dream that‘s divine...

My prayer is a rapture in blue
With the world far away
And our lips close to mine.

Tonight, while our hearts are aglow,
Oh, tell me the words that I’m longing to know...

My prayer and the answer you give,
May they still be the same for as long as we live,
That you’ll always be there
At the end of my prayer!

A recent documentary posed an interesting theory. All bombers returning to England were required to drop payloads in a designated area of the English channel (a bomb drop zone). The departure time and flight path of the Miller plane was known. The same goes for all returning flights. It appears that the Miller plane flew through the zone at the same time that the bombers dumped their payloads. We will probably never know. Very good music during a very bad time.

I love this song so much... it's the perfect reflection song... I can easily see my self, all cozied up in a nice leather recliner at age 85 playing this record thinking about my life's memories as the rest of the world engulfs itself in mushroom clouds...
